I’m Sorry …
As of May 21, 2026, I subbed my last class at Causey Middle School.
As of June 2026, I have accepted an offer to return to the classroom and will begin teaching Social Studies 8 (Medieval Period to the Renaissance) in August 2026.
I will begin my 24th year teaching at Causey Middle (30th year of teaching, if you don’t count the two substitute teacher years) in the room where it all started in that building: Room 812.
Words cannot express how excited I am to return full-time to my own classroom and make connections with my own tribe of kids. These are the kids I made a promise to in May of 2025 — that I would return to be their teacher in the eighth grade. There were some challenges and distractions along the way, but it looks like that promise will be fulfilled in a short while. I cannot wait to begin!
